ARS Electronica, an international media art festival with a high reputation worldwide, was held in Linz, Austria, from Sept. 6 to Sept. 10. And at this event, students majoring in culture and technology convergence at our university's Department of Global Convergence received the world's attention with their brilliant performances.
Ars Electronica is called a summit of artists and researchers who create new creations at the boundary between technology and art. Our university students participated in the festival and colored the international stage with original works.
The works presented by the students were various forms of media art created by the fusion of modern technology, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, traditional culture, music, and video. These various works received high attention and praise from visitors and were also considered the highlight of the festival.
On the other hand, among students, it is expected that the experience and networking opportunities through this participation will have a great impact on future artistic activities. "This Ars Electronica participation will be an unforgettable moment in my life as an artist," said a student who participated in the festival. "The inspiration and feedback received through exchanges with various artists around the world will be of great help to future works."
Kim Jang-hyun, head of the Department of Global Convergence Studies, said of the participation, "It was a valuable opportunity to prove our students' abilities on a global stage. I am grateful to be recognized globally through their outstanding talents and efforts."
Students from the Department of Global Convergence are expected to continue their activities more actively on various stages at home and abroad based on their experience and confidence gained at Ars Electronica.
